Empowering Independence: EazyHold’s Adaptive Aid for Limited Hand Mobility

EazyHold is an innovative silicone universal cuff for those with limited grip abilities. Their patented silicone cuff is used for adaptive eating, adaptive drinking, and adaptive play.

Adaptive aids are designed to help people with disabilities or limitations perform their daily activities, with the overarching goal of enhancing independence, improving quality of life, and fostering inclusivity. These aids offer valuable assistance to a diverse range of individuals. This blog post focuses on an adaptive aid that aims to enhance the lives of those with limited hand mobility. Whether it’s enabling individuals to feed themselves, brush their teeth independently, or effortlessly grasp everyday objects, the EazyHold range of adaptive aids is dedicated to promoting independence and enhancing overall quality of life.

EazyHold was founded by the Mellin sisters who were struck by inspiration when Wendy Mellin was struggling to sweep with a broom due to a past thumb injury. She grabbed duct tape and made a loop across the broom handle to enhance her grip, maintain control, and finish the job. That moment coupled with a passion to enhance the lives of those with limited hand mobility, led them on a journey to create simple, inclusive, and hygienic grip aids, which evolved into EazyHold. EazyHold has become a game-changing product serving a wide range of needs from arthritis to conditions like cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s disease.

EazyHold’s Universal Cuff is a non-weighted 100% hypoallergenic, highly durable and flexible silicone strap. It is latex-free, food-grade, non-BPA and remarkably easy to clean. With a range of seven different sizes available, this cuff caters to everyone, from infants and babies to kids and adults. The Mellin sisters’ meticulous attention to detail has resulted in a cuff that is not only comfortable, thanks to its soft silicone that warms to skin temperature and doesn’t require a tight grip, but also offers excellent non-slip support and hassle-free cleaning

EazyHold’s silicone band openings have a wide stretch to easily fit various-sized object handles. The silicone is slightly tacky, eliminating the need for a tight grip on the hand or limb to ensure effectiveness. Here are a few applications for EazyHold’s grip aid:

I have a child with CP, and these are perfect for him! I put teethers, toothbrushes, and spoons on with these and it’s awesome! THERAPIST RECOMMENDED

These silicone handholds look like they work really well, but they demand your hand be on the item a certain way, and my grip has adapted to grip at a different angle. I haven’t found a good way to use these yet as a “cage” to encase my hand. Nonetheless, they DO work for me to make the handle fatter and less slippery!

These work perfect for my son who has limited hand movements qith his quadriplegic. I like the multiple sizes as we can adjust to different items easier.

I am 46, and have severe arthritis. I lack strength, so I couldn’t put this onto my fork myself. I had to have help putting it on my fork. Once my father got it on for me, it worked great for me. I don’t constantly drop my fork. I have tiny hands, so the green one was perfect for me. It is dishwasher safe. I just left it on the fork and it cleaned up great. I think you are on the right track, but it needs some serious reworking. I need to be able to get it on myself.
